About the practice
A visual artist, a passionate guide, and a leader in arts in health.
Hiveworks Arts in Health is Belinda Ageda's practice — a practice built on fifteen years of bringing art-making into the places where stress lives.
Belinda Ageda (she/her) is a Toronto-based arts-in-health practitioner with more than fifteen years of experience delivering wellness workshops in high-stress sectors — healthcare, social services, education, and community work. Her sessions foster stress relief, mental well-being, and resilience for the people who care for others.
Her training spans visual art at OCAD University and Gestalt psychotherapy at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto, alongside a long-standing mindfulness practice. From these she has built a rich toolkit of creative strategies for well-being, and an approach attuned to people working in caregiving roles. Cultural grounding is structural to her practice — not a theme layered on afterward.
As a facilitator, she approaches every engagement with the conviction that creative practice is a form of repair — for individuals, for teams, and for the communities they serve.
“I aim to bring out the wisdom participants already hold. We all have a piece of the puzzle to share.”
About arts in health
Art-making as a health behaviour.
Arts in health is the practice of using creative activity to support well-being. Its benefits are increasingly recognized across Canadian healthcare and beyond — and they reach past patients and clients to the staff who care for them.
The focus is self-expression, not artistic skill. It is not art therapy, and it is not a paint night. It is a grounded, low-pressure space for a bit of play and reset, run by a facilitator who keeps it accessible from the first minute, using only materials already at hand.
